I am fully aware that Air Fryers and Insta-pot recipes have taken over our newsfeeds and in addition to the bread everyone was making during the “Panini” they were also making everything else in there air fryer and so yes this is yet another air fryer recipe.
So I originally bought and air fryer way back when pre-pandemic days I want to say in like 2018 and I HATED IT, it was way to small it had a basket that was like 2QT and there is no way that’s big enough for my family of growing boys and football player sized husband so away it sat on a shelf never to really be used again.
Then I happen to get this bad boy as a gift- It is the Ultean 8.5Qt Air Fryer in Aqua (it matches my igloo ice maker perfectly) and this thing is a monster, if space saving kitchen appliances are your thing need not to buy this meteor of an air fryer but when I tell you how amazing it is to cook in, it is seriously a dream to work with! It auto shuts off so if you aren’t standing by it when the timer goes off you don’t risk over cooking your food, clean up is a breeze and overall it’s a lot healthier of a choice versus frying something in oil or deep frying in oil.
So The first day of school happened in our area recently and I had planned on having a pot roast cooking in the Crockpot all day so when we got home from our first day the house would smell amazing and dinner would be ready to go…..WELL My children broke my large Crockpot so when I planned this meal I didn’t even think about the size of the backup Crockpot I use…it’s a small round one not a large oval, my half frozen chuck roast wasn’t going to fit… but I just got this air fryer so off to Google I went to look for cook times and temperatures and honestly if it was even possible. After hours of searching different recipes I learned that cook and temps vary but that it was totally possible and a new recipe was created.
This recipe is using a 3lb chuck roast I got from our local meat market, its wonderful quality and quality prices. This specific roast came in one of the “Freezer Packs” I buy from Granzin’s Meat Market (Check them out here, I am in no way affiliated with Granzin’s or compensated off you clicking this link -Granzin's Freeze Packs)
These freezer packs really help me save money and have better quality meats-The one I regularly buy once or twice a month is the box that contains- 1lbs Bacon, 1lb Breakfast Sausage, 1 Link of Kielbasa Sausage, 1 Chicken Fryer, 1 3lb Chuck Roast, 5lbs of Ground Chuck.
Anyway back to the point Air Fryer Pot Roast was something created out of a necessity and it quickly became the preferred method of cooking my roast.
Hope you enjoy and as always
