So I grew up eating that frozen red box mystery meat “Salisbury Steak” as did my husband and don’t get me wrong it’s DELICIOUS! Like seriously we still ate it up to about 3 years ago, and depending on our schedules and how much time I can devote to cooking we will prolly eat it again!
But I get this rush of serotonin by making meals at home for the family, no honestly the rush of happy endorphins I get from creating a new recipe, cooking it and watching my family devour it absolutely makes up for the crushing depression and anxiety that comes from having to clean a messy kitchen.
Something my dad taught me was that knowing what your weakness’ are is actually one of your strengths if you allow it to be. Knowing you need help or assistance on something from the jump means you know to ask more questions or ask for help right away instead of coming up from behind.
Now for this specific recipe I did use a gravy mix but don’t take my southern card just yet; I use a mix for this type of recipe because I don’t feel as if I get enough drippings from the ground meat to make a well flavored gravy, now this is my personal opinion so you if you like your homemade brown gravy and it has a ton of flavor by all means have at it, mine is just not that good and I know this from the start of the recipe so I buy the H-E-B Brown Gravy Mix for $0.30 a package. #KnowYourWeakness
I hope this recipe give you same rush of serotonin as it does for me, Let me know what changes or adjustments you make on this and if you have a bomb ass brown gravy recipe send it to me in the comments I’d love to give it a go!
As Always I hope you have a wonderful day, Remember to Wash Your Hands, BE KIND and Make Good Choices!!!
