The Tomato Sauce of all Tomato Sauces

This recipe while being uber simple was difficult for me to write, unsure why at this moment maybe because this sauce was basically the first dish I ever truly cooked. Learning how to make homemade Lasagna meant I had to learn how to make my own sauce, maybe I had a hard time because it’s one because it’s one of those rare memories with your parents when you’re an adult and it feels more like friends in the kitchen than Dad and Daughter.

While I grew up here in Texas my dad spent the majority of his childhood in New Jersey and says that jar tomato sauce is terrible and should never be used. So when he learned his adult daughter was using Prego (sometimes Ragu if there was a sale or coupon) he felt compelled to correct it so him, myself and my step- mother went to work in the kitchen and my love for home cooked meals I personally made was discovered. I loved every minute of knowing exactly what was in my sauce and I knew exactly what I was serving my family it was a piece of a puzzle that I didn’t know was missing.

This sauce can be used for nearly anything you can think of with just a few substitutions or subtractions- We use this as Spaghetti Sauce, Sauce for Lasagna, Meatball Sub sandwiches, homemade pizza, Marinara Sauce, Sauce for Chicken Parmesan the possibilities are really endless if you think about it.

Well I hope you enjoy this, if you make anything with this sauce, take pictures send them to me on Instagram to be featured! As Always Remember to Wash Your Hands, Wear a Mask and Make Good Choices!!
