5 Star Nutrition Product Review

Ok so I’m going to preface this post with saying I am in no way a Medical Provider or a trained Fitness or nutrition coach, Honest Truth is I’m just an overweight mom who sometimes tries to get into a healthy kick and likes being able to try new plans and new workouts and what a better way to share my thoughts, my pro’s and con’s then on this blog where I share all my wonderful food content….now I realize most of my recipes are not in the highest healthy standings but I think for the most part I’m a pretty realistic depiction of the modern American Mom. I love to cook for my family but I need it to be budget and time friendly but I also want to try the newest (often MLM) diet hacks and tips, and I also want to try Rebel Wilson’s workout routine, or Follow Lizzo’s vegan diet but being an un-medicated ADHD Personality I often have trouble sticking with something.

So I LOVED Advocare Spark, I’m not sure it’s even a thing anymore as most MLM’s usually go thru a really popular phase, then just some loyalists remain until it eventually tapers off or transitions to something different (As in the favorite smoothie/shake and Loaded Tea shop in your hometown is more than likely a front for a Herbalife MLM company) I was once a distributor for Advocare but never made any money I just signed up for my personal discount. The reason I bring up Advocare (or any MLM really) is because yes the products may actually work (for some) but 9 out of 10 times you’re not going to gain financial independence and be able to quit your job and

“ WoRk FrOm YoUr PhOnE **Insert random emoji’s**”

Advocare’s spark was a tasty energy boosting drink that I mixed with water and it was wonderful, it helped me kick the soda habit and kept me energized, and the more energy your system has the better your metabolism works. So I was on the hunt for something that would give me the same type of effect without the sales-y MLM Pitch and a friend introduced me to 5 Star Nutrition.

We have a local 5 Star Nutrition store front here in my town and they have multiple locations but are also available online and the great part about the online store, Shipping is ALWAYS FREE, and the shipping is so fast too, not sure if they slip their postman a little something extra in his Christmas card or what but the shipping speed could make Jeff Bezos knees weak.

I decided to try out 2 different “pre-workout” drinks,

**I was not drinking these prior to a workout so I’m not basing the results on that, this is purely a taste review.**

I got a canister of the Amped One by NutraOne- in the Summertime Lemonade Flavor as well as the Amino Energy By NutraOne in the Strawberry Watermelon flavor

On the Amino Energy is an all in one performance mix with Branched-Chained Amino Acids(BCAA)….ok so yeah I had no idea what BCAA’s were either but BCAAs are imperative to your nutritional/fitness needs for building lean muscle. The Amino Energy can help prevent Muscle Breakdown and Reduce Soreness and improve your endurance.

Taste I’d get it a solid 6 out of 10, its not as sweet as other pre workouts or energy drinks and does have a bit of a tart aftertaste but the watermelon flavor is really intense in it which is a huge plus since I Love Watermelon.

Now on to the Amped One, Amped One is an advanced pre-workout mix with massive amounts of energy and improves your stamina you need to complete even your toughest workouts, Or to get you thru a tough day at the office. It can help delay the fatigue you feel during intense cardio and it can help you preserve your muscle mass. It is shown to increase performance with greater training volume. Amped One helped improve my focus and helped me transition thru my day easier.

Taste I’d give this one an 8 out of 10, the lemonade flavor tasted like a sugar free version of the Country Time Lemonade we use to drink as kids during the summer.

With both of these mixes preparing them is simple. All you do is mix 1-2 scoops with 8 oz of water in your shaker bottle and you are ready to go it really was just that easy and one canister depending on how often you make them could easily last you 3 weeks to a full month.

I did prefer the taste of the Amped One Summertime Lemonade over the Amino Energy Strawberry Watermelon.

Now neither ones of these technically aid in weight loss or appetite suppression but I will say I did not get that 10am or 2pm snack attack on the days I drank the Amped One Pre Workout.
