Is 2021 just 2020 Part Deux?

Man what a year it’s been….and we are only in March. It’s crazy to think that a year ago at this time everything would forever be changed.

A time when the world started to recognize the real heroes that walk among us, the Healthcare Workers, The Grocery Store Employees, the Teachers, oh my just bless their hearts, 3 months of fully remote school was enough for us honestly so in August when the schools opened back up with the mask requirements in place we dropped those kids off faster than a hot knife thru butter.

Our worlds were changed and a lot of it changed for the better, Employers and companies started to realize the benefit to remote working for not only their business but the morale of their employees. Families were able to slow down and focus on that great quality time they had always been too busy for before. Entrepreneurs had a world of opportunity opening up in front of them and the time available to dive in head first. **Cough Cough This very Blog**

During the beginning of the pandemic shopping habits were changed and for some people they were forever changed. You may have thought we lived in a instant gratification lifestyle before but now people had the ability to not only order their new time wasting hobbies from Amazon and order food to be delivered for dinner other than pizza, they were able to order their groceries online now too.

I started buying my hand soap online since it was so difficult to get in the actual grocery stores I bought what I thought would last me at least 3 months from Amazon – turns out I was wrong we were washing our hands at a heavily increased rate This Dove foaming hand wash was great, the foaming aspect really helps little hands be able to “do it by myself” without sacrificing the actual cleanliness of a preschool-er washing their hands by themselves, and because it’s made by Dove it doesn’t dry out your hands the way other soaps and sanitizers do. Purchase from Amazon here - https://amzn.to/3es9jXe

I started streaming A LOT more content than previously- I mean didn’t we all get into the Carol Baskin Tiger King Drama? It was a really nice break from reality, in addition to all the new content we were able to watch brand new release movies thanks to streaming providers like HBO Max and just this last weekend we were able to watch the brand new Sponge On The Run movie on Paramount + - Use this link to get a free month and try them out! https://paramountplus.qflm.net/2rrkKD

I continued to find ways to save and earn some side money by adjusting my grocery budget and getting the best bang for my buck, with savings programs like Ibotta you can really save a lot and get rewarded for the items you already are purchasing or if you’re like me there are brands or products you want to try but unless it has a coupon of some sort you aren’t getting it until its on sale, this pays you back for trying something new! Sign up with Ibotta now using my link https://ibotta.risj.net/Jrb6mq

Speaking of side hustle my survey game definitely got stepped up during the pandemic! I spend all day on my computer for my regular day job and sometimes you need to break up that work day a little bit and online surveys are a great way to take a mental break and get some extra cha-ching in your paypal account. By doing a few online surveys a month with Swagbucks I earn gift cards to my favorite stores like Amazon, Target and Starbucks- Sign up here and check them out https://swagbucks.7eer.net/xAJ9d

Grocery Shopping has always been my escape, it’s my completely child free 1-2 hours every single week to go mosey thru every single isle of the store if I want too but Covid-19 made that fun little escape not so much fun and a whole lot more risky so like many Americans I switched curbside and delivery options and have found that Instacart, is perfect for all my needs AND it gets delivered to me, no having to load up the kids in carseats and wait for a curbside parking spot it’s delivered straight to my door – Use this link for Free Delivery on your first order https://instacart.oloiyb.net/c/2578749/744641/7412

What changes have you made since March 2020?

Even though Texas has opened back up to 100% occupancy and lifted the statewide Mask Mandate we still need to be mindful of the protocols that have kept us safe this past year and we need to remember all the good we found during the Stay At Home Orders.

I learned that my oldest is really great at digital design, He has spent his time being super creative and getting more skilled at a trade he wants to continue with….if he doesn’t make it to the NFL that is. He also really values his alone time to just be, it’s something we are working to make sure he has on a more regular basis, being the oldest is hard tack on starting middle school during a pandemic sometimes you just need space to be alone.

I learned just how funny my youngest truly is, in addition to having his daddies beautiful eyes and dashing dimple he also has his quick wit and incredible sense of humor. We also learned what a talented artist he is, most of the time he wouldn’t sit still long enough to actually be creative but with all his new time on his hands he found it was really relaxing. We also realized that choices tend to be overwhelming for him so we try to limit his options to help relieve some of the stress of decision making.

I learned the beauty of being able to stay home not for a desperately needed “lazy day” but just existing in my home and enjoying the company of my husband and our kids. I fell in love with being in the kitchen again and creating new recipes while trying out some old favorites.

The work is not over yet, we need more of those eligible to get vaccinated to do that to help herd immunity, we need to remember all that we have discovered about ourselves and we need to stay vigilant about being safe.

As Always Remember To Wash Your Hands, Wear A Mask and Make Good Choices!!!
